THE joint-chairmen of Devizes’ junior section have completed this year’s RFU Leadership Academy.
The scheme aims to develop leaders in community rugby and Devizes’ Chris Dyer and Will Owen are two of 18 candidates that have passed the programme under the guidance of Dorset & Wilts RFU.
The candidates, who were selected from eight member clubs, covered a number of topics during the Leadership Academy programme, ably supported by six mentors, including county president John Constable.
Dyer, Owen and their compatriots completed a host of formal and informal development sessions designed to help develop their rugby expertise and confidence whilst also providing them with opportunities to network and share their own experiences.
Dorset & Wilts president Constable presented both men with their certificate and Leadership Academy shields at a recent presentation evening and is now looking forward to the next scheme in two years’ time.
