HARDENHUISH School clinched the girls Key Stage Three badminton title for the second successive year at the School Games Centre Parcs National County Competition at Tidworth Leisure Centre.

The Hardenhuish team swept the board with 5-0 victories to hang on to their crown and will represent Wiltshire in the next regional heat in Devon next month.

More than 85 players from 10 schools took part in the event, with 19 Young Volunteers officiating the games.

Devizes School completed a double in the boys’ events, winning the Key Stage Three (Years 7-9) and Key Stage Four (Years 10-11) competitions.

Swindon’s Isambard were the Key Stage Four girls winners.

In the School Games Level Three County Boys Basketball competition, held at St John’s School, Marlborough, Swindon’s Bradon Forest finished on top, ahead of Bishop Wordsworth, St Augustine’s, the host school and Sheldon School.

They’re jumping for joy

A team of seven Hardenhuish School pupils bounced their way to victory in the Wiltshire School Games trampolining competition.

The team, comprised of pupils from Years 7-9 included Madeleine Poh, Thea Wakeham, Conor Irwin, Madison Lavelle, Maisie Jackman, Megan Wright and Owen Hitchman.

Year Eight student Irwin achieved the highest individual score amongst all the competitors.
