STEPHANIE Millward claimed two golds as Great Britain finished their IPC World Championships campaign second in medal table.

Millward, from Box, took the S9 100m backstroke title and was a member of the 34-point 4x100m medley relay team who took more than six seconds off their world record.

With four silvers and two bronzes also bagged on the final night, Britain finished with 55 medals in total - including 18 golds - to finish behind only Ukraine in the standings.

Millward claimed backstroke gold in one minute 10.56 seconds after being pushed by British teammate Amy Marren, who came second with a personal best of 1min 10.98secs.

The pair were then both part of the relay team, along with Claire Cashmore and Steph Slater, who stormed to gold in 4:46.21, taking 6.19s off the world record.

"It's been a crazy night and absolutely perfect - like a dream come true," said Millward.

"The 100m backstroke is something I've always wanted to win. I've come second at it at the Worlds and second at the Paralympics and it's quite depressing always coming second and now I've got a gold to show off.

"Then to be part of that medley team which took six seconds off the world record, you can't get better than that. It was fantastic."

Trowbridge ASC swimmer Chloe Davies, 14, made the podium for the first time on Worlds debut with a 2:32.83 effort for bronze in the SM14 200m individual medley.
