TRAFFIC is queueing on the M4 westbound between Junction 16 (Swindon West/Marlborough) and Junction 17 (Chippenham/Cirencester) after a crash in which one man was hurt.
The Great Western Air Ambulance landed near the scene of the incident, which happened on the M4 westbound.
The motorway was closed in both directions while the air ambulance was on the motorway, with diversions in place.
It has now taken off with traffic beginning to move eastbound again.
Two lanes of the M4 westbound were opened by police at about 5.45pm.
Firefighters from Westlea and Swindon found a car on its roof with one man hurt when they arrived.
He was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said safety work was now being carried out.

"The road is likely to be closed for some time.
"Drivers already caught in the tailbacks are asked to remain patient and we will update you as soon as we are able."
Westbound traffic is now said to be queueing as far as Junction 14 (Hungerford/Wantage).
Traffic at the back of the queue to Junction 17 is being turned around by police and Highways England officers and led back to Junction 16.
