Youth council member Josh Brown, who enjoys teaching pensioners how to use computers, at Aldbourne’s CAN Internet cafe has won a top Wiltshire award.
St John’s student Josh, 14, who lives in Claridge Close in Aldbourne has won the Robbie Endeavour Award jointly presented by Youth Action Wiltshire and Community First.
He is treasurer for the youth council and its Internet cafe set up in a redundant part of the village’s public conveniences in The Square.
Josh, who is in Year 10 at St John’s, has built up good relationships with some of Aldbourne’s OAPs who to to CAN to learn how to use computers.
One, Ray Chapman, said: “I can now work on my own, sending and receiving e mails and can talk to my grandchildren on Facebook.”
Trustee Hazel Keen said: “We need more Josh’s in the world helping in their communities.”
