Young entrepreneurs Darren Mullaney and Dan Wilesmith are doing a daily commute of six hours after becoming owners of the Jag mobile phone store in Devizes.

The pair have taken on the franchise of the shop, in the Market Place, and reopened it last Wednesday after a five- month closure.

Mr Mullaney, 27, and Mr Wilesmith, 25, were store managers for another mobile phone company in the Midlands and Wales.

Mr Mullaney lives in Abergavenny, while Mr Wilesmith lives in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

They share the drive to work which takes three hours each way.

Neither of the men had visited Devizes before they bought the franchise but Mr Mullaney, who used to work for Jag, spoke to former employees of the Devizes store.

Mr Mullaney said: “We were looking at other Jag stores but after speaking to people who worked in the Devizes store we decided to go for it.”

Mr Wilesmith said: “We will be working silly hours for a few weeks but we hope to appoint a store manager so we can reduce our hours.”
