PUPILS at special needs school St Nicholas thought they would be missing out on their annual pancake tossing treat due to half term.

However, thanks to the management team at Chippenham Pit Stop, the pupils were able to celebrate Shrove Tuesday in advance.

The pit stop crew, whose restaurant and shop, just off junction 17 of the M4 also serves the local community, volunteered to provide an advance venue for the St Nicholas children and the students of Poplar College.

General Manager Neal Walford, Pit stop Health Campaigns Coordinator Lisa Hatherell and Director Hannah Hatherell set up a pancake production line in their Goods Yard amenity facility.

The management team made the pancakes in a hot pan, ready for the children to try their hands at tossing, adding toppings or fillings, and most importantly, the eating.
