An elderly woman was robbed by two men while making her way to a bus stop.

The 86-year-old was walking in Sherford Road, Haydon Wick, at about 9.45am yesterday.

The incident occurred while the woman was on her way to a bus stop on Haydonleigh Drive, and although she was not injured, she was said to have been shocked by the incident.

On top of the bag, two purses of sentimental value, which were contained in the bag, were also taken. They are described as a plain black leather wallet and an orange Ostrich leather purse with a clasp.

During the incident the woman said she was approached by two white males who snatched the purse and made off with it.

One was described as between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins, he had a skinny build and was in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing a grey waterproof hoodie with the hood up and light trousers. The other man was described as 6ft, in his late twenties or early thirties, with shaved, hair. He had a medium build and was wearing a grey and white hoodie and jeans.
