A MAN was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs in Trowbridge early this morning.
At 3.30am on Wednesday (April 17), officers noticed a car driving at speed into the car park at Tesco, County Way.
A man was seen to get out of the vehicle, a Ford Focus, and enter the store.
As he left, an officer conducted enquiries inside the store, and CCTV showed a man select a number of items from the shelves, remove security tags, and leave without making any attempt to pay for them.
A search was then conducted of the Ford Focus the man had been seen driving, and suspected class A drugs were located inside.
A 37-year-old man from Chippenham was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and theft from a shop. He was taken to Melksham custody for questioning where he remains.
