SUSPICIOUS activity involving a man attempting to take metal from people’s driveways and skips is being investigated by police.
Police received a number of reports on February 13 about a man driving a white van in the Pewsey and Burbage areas.
One member of the public called 101 after a man had tried to take a metal stove from her driveway, but left the scene empty-handed when confronted. He was spotted throughout the day travelling between villages.
A spokesman said: “As it is half term and people will be leaving their homes unattended, then we would advise the public to make sure they are following crime prevention advice.
“You can read more about this type of advice on our website here https://www.wiltshire.police.uk/article/827/Going-on-holiday”
Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, or in an emergency call 999.
