THE managing director of an energy reduction company in Corsham has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious South West Business Awards for the Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Stuart Pearce, who formed the company four years ago to offer complete energy management and reduction for commercial businesses, was named on the shortlist last week for his work in turning SMARTech into a viable and successful business.

He said: “I’m incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for this award and delighted by how much SMARTech energy has grown over the past four years.

"We are set to have another incredible year and with the continued expansion of services from our head office in Corsham, we are continually increasing our customer base and recruiting more staff to manage new and exciting business opportunities."

The news comes only a month on after Mr Pearce graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Business UK programme, which addresses the support gap for smaller businesses and helps unlock economic and job creation.

“The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme has been an incredibly worthwhile experience and I’m delighted to have joined the ranks of their Alumni," Mr Pearce said. "The knowledge gained from attending the programme means new areas of business growth has been implemented, along with processes and procedures, which are now in place to improve the efficiency of the business.

"In addition, the networking benefits from meeting like minded business leaders has also been of significant value; and this is already opening up new and exciting opportunities for SMARTech energy."
