RECENTLY I was promoted to Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for International Trade, the Rt Honourable Liam Fox MP. The role is one of acting as a conduit between Dr Liam Fox MP and other MPs.

With the Brexit negotiations ongoing this department is one of the most important in government focusing on growing UK trading relationships across the globe as we seek to explore free trade agreements with countries across the world.

The promotion comes on the back of my continued campaign to defend Wiltshire jobs and I always visit on average two constituency-based businesses a week.

It is vital that we secure the best possible trade deals for the UK after Brexit to ensure we protect and grow local jobs here in Wiltshire and around the UK.

Wiltshire has some amazing and innovative businesses which are leading the way when it comes to driving export growth and we need to celebrate these and continue to talk up the UK economy and our fantastic British businesses.

Here in the constituency it was fantastic to once again attend the Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of Marie Curie at Sheppard and Sons in Chippenham. The team has grown this event year on year and is looking to raise more than £1,000 this year, which is a fantastic achievement for a very worthy cause and I was proud to be able be a part of the event.

Since being elected I have always sought to be as accessible as possible and have regularly held open surgeries or Meet your MP-style events across the constituency.

As we approach the Summer Parliamentary Recess I am taking the opportunity to arrange a Meet your MP roadshow across the whole constituency, taking in all the large villages and market towns. With 15 locations, I do hope that you will be able to join me at one of them.

As with all my open events, there is no need for an appointment and constituents are free to discuss national and local issues with me, ask any questions they may have or seek my support with an individual problem.
