A new St John Ambulance training venue will be launched in Chippenham next month to help more people learn how to save lives.

The new facility at the Riverside Centre in Bath Road is being opened in response to the demand from businesses wanting workplace training.

The new base will offer a range of courses to help businesses meet legal requirements including first aid at work, emergency first aid at work, annual refresher and fire marshal training. The first training course will be held on October 1.

To mark the opening, St John Ambulance is offering £50 off a first aid at work course and £20 off an emergency first aid at work course to take place before the end of year.

John Cavanagh, regional director of St John Ambulance’s Commercial Training Division, said: “We already have training facilities in Wiltshire in Salisbury, Devizes and Swindon, but we knew there was scope for a better training venue in Chippenham due to the demand for us to hold courses here.

“Chippenham is home to a wide variety of businesses which need first aid and health and safety training and its situation in the county makes it an ideal location.”
