Students at Hardenhuish screamed with joy after receiving their GCSE results this morning.
Almost 80 per cent of grades were A* to C.
Emma Chen was the school’s top performer, taking an astonishing 12 A* grades, and Daniel Rignall, Madeline Hogben and Theodore Stell took ten A* grades.
Georgina Williams was in tears after learning she had achieved five A*s and three As.
She said: “It’s fantastic - I’m so happy.”
Headteacher Jan Hatherell said: “The majority of Hardenhuish pupils are celebrating results which reflect the years of hard work by themselves, their teachers, and the support of their families.”
The head said many of the students will be heading to the school’s sixth form to continue with their studies.
“It is a delight to work with our pupils and we expect to welcome the majority of them into our sixth form in September,” she said.
