Reverend Justin Bradbury, a minister at St James’ Church, South-broom, was given a fond farewell from parishioners.
Mr Bradbury has left St James’ in Devizes after four years to take up a career as an Army chaplain.
On May 20 he was licensed by Bishop Stephen Venner, the Anglican Bishop to Her Majesty’s armed forces, at St Michael’s Garrison Church, Tidworth.
Mr Bradbury looked back with fondness at his time at St James.’ Writing in the parish magazine, he said: “It does feel as if I have been welcomed, embraced and hosted for these past years. My abiding memory will be one of generosity. You have also been incredibly accommodating and forgiving.
“Relationship is at the heart of my ministry and is deep in the DNA of St James’s. I cannot name you all in this short article but you should know that you have each made a lasting impression on me. You have shaped me over these four years and I leave as a more rounded person and leader.”
