The anguish of Bo Bruce, the estranged daughter of the Earl of Cardigan, was laid bare on national television tonight as the talented singer challenged for a place in the final of BBC's The Voice.
Performing the Kate Bush classic Running Up the Hill, the judges confirmed she wasn't just singing a song, she was singing her life.
Bo's mentor and judge Danny O'Donoghue praised Bo, whose ancestoral home is at the historic and listed Tottenham House in Savernake Forest and whose ancestoral surname is Brudenell-Bruce, for turning pain into something extraordinary.
He praised her as someone who is willing to bear her soul and said her mum would be proud of her.
Sadly, Bo's mum is undergoing treatment for cancer, but that hasn't stopped her or Bo's brother Tom, being behind the singer all the way.
