Scottish and Southern Electricity have apologised for the loss of power in the Devizes area on Sunday.
Some 1,100 customers lost electricity shortly before 9am when high winds brought tree branches down on power lines.
A spokesman for the power company said: “The vast majority of customers were reconnected by 10.30am but it took some time to repair the damage to the network and about 100 homes did not have their supply restored until 7pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but the continuing bad weather hampered the work of engineers.”
