Arthur the cat returned home after spending four days in an empty house.

Owners Steve and Paula Perkins, of Kingfisher Drive, Devizes, leafleted the area appealing for information about 12-year-old Arthur.

A builder working inside a house at Ash Walk picked up one of the leaflets, which was posted through the letterbox, and saw Arthur in the home.

He and the estate agent left a message for Mr and Mrs Perkins and they and their white cat were re-united last Wednesday evening.

Mr Perkins said: “Arthur must have heard us when we were putting the leaflet through the door. He was frightened when I went to collect him, but as soon as he got back into our house he didn’t shut up. He was fine apart from being hungry.

“We wish to thank everyone who helped, especially the builder and estate agent.”
