Wiltshire Police chief officers and the Wiltshire Police Authority chairman are hosting a public online chat on Thursday.

The live session from 7pm to 8pm will provide members of the public with an opportunity to ask questions directly to Temporary Chief Constable Pat Geenty, Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Mike Veale and Wiltshire Police Authority Chairman Chris Hoare.

Submitting a question is simple. Visit www.wiltshire.police.uk on the evening and click into the chat forum.

Mr Geenty said: “We are hosting this chat via our Force website to give Wiltshire residents an opportunity to ask us questions and give us suggestions about policing issues that matter to them.”

This will be the fourth online chat Wiltshire Police chief officers and Wiltshire Police Authority chairman Chris Hoare have held with the public.

Wiltshire Police Authority chairman Chris Hoare said: “There are a number of changes happening in the police service, including changes to the way forces work as a result of government budget cuts and the elections of Police and Crime Commissioners in November. At the chat, we would like to gain feedback about these matters as well as discuss other policing-related topics residents wish to raise.”

Chief officers and the Police Authority chairman will endeavour to answer as many questions as possible during the session.

However, it may not be possible to answer all questions within the live hour. So Wiltshire Police will endeavour to post answers to questions not answered during the live hour on the Wiltshire Police website by the end of the following day.

The online session must not be used to report a crime or query the progress with an existing crime. All questions will be monitored and will only be posted once they have been approved.
