The entertainment at Devizes Lions’ May Day Fair in the Market Place on Monday will be boosted by a new feature – a wheelbarrow race.
Teams of two will have to negotiate an obstacle course while the team member sitting in the barrow clings onto a two-pint container of water.
The team with the best time and most water left in their container will win a bottle of champagne.
Anyone wanting to enter the race should contact John Knight on (01380) 722854.
The race will begin at 11.30am but the fair starts at 9.30am with the usual range of stalls and sideshows, complemented by the Old Curiosity Market in the Shambles.
There will be entertainment all day between 9.30am and 3.30pm, including Punch & Judy and magic shows, a samba band, the Great Bustards morris troupe and music from local duo Bitter and Twisted.
On sale there will be a hog roast, hot dogs and hamburgers, ice cream and coffee.
