Scottish and Southern Electricity have apologised for the loss of power to customers in the Devizes area caused by trees brought down by high winds on Sunday morning.
Some 1,100 customers lost their electricity supply shortly before 9am on Sunday when power lines were brought down by fallen branches.
A spokesman for the power company said: “The vast majority of customers were reconnected by 10.30am but it took some time to repair the damage to the network and about 100 homes did not have their supply restored until 7pm.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused but the continuing bad weather hampered the work of our engineers.”
