Singing and dancing will take centre stage at the Memorial Hall this week for Wootton Bassett Light Operatic Society’s shows.
The group started their run of Half a Sixpence yesterday and continues performances until Saturday.
Simon Welch, of WBLOS, said: “The show is an all-singing, all-dancing love story based on a book written by HG Wells.”
Old favourites and new members of WBLOS make up the cast, along with cameos from two members of the junior society, WBLETs.
Mark Harper returns to the director’s chair after the success of the Pajama Game in 2010, with musical direction by Chloe Keen and choreography by Kim Pethybridge.
Half a Sixpence follows the rollercoaster exploits of Artie Kipps, played by Rob Hall, and his childhood sweetheart Ann, played by Dee Austin.
Tickets, at £9.50 or £8 for concessions, can be ordered at www.wblos.org.uk, by emailing tickets@wblos. org.uk, or by calling 07789 160482. Performances start at 7.30pm.
