Doorway, the Wiltshire charity drop-in centre for homeless and vulnerably housed adults, is organising a spring fair in Chippenham next week.

The charity is holding the event on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7 from 11am until 4pm, in St Andrew’s Church Hall.

After the phenomenal success of the SleepOut in January, Doorway staff, volunteers and members of the local community will get together once again to increase awareness of homelessness in Wiltshire and raise much needed funds for the Doorway drop-in centre.

There will be something for everyone, including children’s games, craft stalls, tombola, plants, cakes, bric à brac, hot food, and lots more.

There will also be a raffle with many first class prizes including a voucher for a Spa Day, kindly donated by Bowood House and a year’s membership of Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum donated by a member of Doorway.

Chippenham Morris Men will be performing.

Organiser Mary Quarmby said: "We are very grateful to local people and businesses who have donated some splendid prizes and items for sale.

"Although we are praying for a fine day, most of our stalls will be under cover, so whatever the weather it will be a great family day out."
