Caen Hill Marina has won an accolade, just six months after it opened.

The 248-berth marina, at Lower Foxhangers on the Kennet and Avon Canal, has received four gold anchors in an award scheme run by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

The scheme is a voluntary assessment programme focussing on customer service and provision of quality berths for boat owners.

Ratings range from one to five gold anchors.

Gareth Turnbull, TYHA general manager, said the Caen Hill Marina had been well thought out, with excellent on-site facilities.

He congratulated marina managers Rob and Cara Hodgson-Reed for their attention to detail and having an excellent relationship with their berth holders.

Mr Turnbull said: “We are so pleased that yet another inland marina has scored so well in their first assessment.

“With a further assessment in three years’ time, I’m sure it will be possible for them to achieve a higher rating.”

Mr Hodgson-Reed said: “We are very pleased to have achieved this prestigious award, especially as we are a new marina. Cara and I will strive to attain the five anchors within the award scheme, which we hope to achieve in the future.”
