Chippenham man Stephen King has escaped a jail term, despite admitting sexually touching a child.
King, 28, of Heron Way, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when he appeared at North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court last month.
He appeared again for sentencing on Monday, when he got off with a community order. Prosecuting, Michelle Hewitt asked magistrates to place a ten-year ban on King being unaccompanied in any premises with anyone under the age of 18.
Magistrates sentenced him to a 24-month supervision order and banned him for five years from being unaccompanied in any dwelling with anyone under the age of 18. He was also banned from contacting the victim.
