PROFESSOR Asa Briggs will give the fundraising lecture for the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes.
Lord Briggs is perhaps the best known living historian in Britain and the lecture will draw on his own experiences and the changing perceptions of history. It will include the history of Wiltshire Arch-aeological and Natural History Society, which runs the museum.
One of the most respect-ed historians to write on the Victorian era, he was previously vice-chancellor of the University of Sussex and chancellor of the Open University. His wife, Sus-an, was born in Devizes.
The lecture is on Saturday at the town hall, Devizes, at 2.30pm. Tickets are £10 from the museum.
