THIS time last year joinery firm production manager Paul Buckingham weighed 21 stone, 6.5lbs.
But after shedding 7.5 stones he did eight hours on a spin-a-thon bike as part of the Canburg team for the charity Bag4Sport’s 24-hour marathon at the Route2Fitness gym in Devizes.
Last week they were presented with a magnum of champagne by Bag4Sport co-director Andy Trusler for raising £1,636 in sponsorship.
The amount was boosted by a £1,000 donation by Leo Caplan, managing director of Canburg in Devizes.
Mr Buckingham said: “The spin-a-thon was a huge amount of fun.”
Bag4Sport is also celebrating after becoming a finalist in five different categories in the Wiltshire Business of the Year Awards. The not-for-profit company is hoping to win in the categories: environmental; innovation and growth; services to the community; rural business and small business.
