The local branch of the Wiltshire & Berkshire Canal Trust holds its annual quiz night this week.
The quiz has now been running for ten years and has raised thousands of pounds for the charity.
Organiser Kath Hatton, a member of the charity’s Melksham, Chippenham & Calne branch, said: “People don’t have to be members of the trust to take part. It’s just a fun way to enjoy an evening while supporting a worthy cause.
“The quiz has been running since 2002 and raises hundreds of pounds to support the local restoration of the waterway.
“The money can be used to buy equipment for our work parties, or to fund engineering surveys and planning applications.”
The event is at Lans-downe Hall in Derry Hill on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Call Kath on (01380) 831231.
