A man who smashed a shop window in Devizes Market Place after a bust-up with his girlfriend has been given an 18-month community order by magistrates.
Sean Fox, 30, of Woodland Way, Devizes, pleaded guilty on January 31 to one charge of criminal damage and one of assault and his case has been adjourned for sentence.
Salisbury magistrates heard that Fox had been at the Corn Exchange on November 26 last year where he had an argument with his girlfriend.
He then walked across the Market Place and smashed two panes of glass in the window of fashion store Cielo Blu, causing £620 damage.
He was given a community order for 18 months, during which he will have to liaise with a probation officer, and was told to pay £620 compensation to shop owner Helen Morse. No order was made to pay court costs.
