A man who has overcome learning difficulties is celebrating the publication of his second book.
Matthew Chivers, 26, from Langley Burrell, who has battled dyslexia and aphasia since childhood, will be signing copies of his novel at Waterstones, Chippenham, on Saturday.
Mr Chivers said his conditions had put him five to 10 years behind his classmates in literacy.
Now he has self-published Orchestra, the second in his Approaching the Dark Age fantasy/sci-fi series, the first of which was titled Resonance.
Mr Chivers, a receptionist at Travelodge, said: “With the problems I have it has made it difficult, everything I have learnt has taken so much longer.
“But writing the books has helped me catch up a bit. I have been writing for about seven years now, but only went ahead with publishing in the last year.
“The books are a bit of a mix of sci-fi and fantasy.”
Orchestra is available to buy at Waterstones, Chippenham.
