It is interesting to note that Coun Pitts intends to cover a tree with lights for Christmas near St Mary’s Church, having previously spent a considerable sum to put a power point in the middle of the Green.
Is it now greener to put lights for few to see at more cost than to plant a tree on the Green which all can enjoy and be there for many years to come?
However it might mean the local youth can spend their time wrecking the lights rather than throwing their bottles and glasses in the alley.
Dare I suggest the council adopt feasibility studies before wasting any more of our money?
