A row over car parking charges in Wiltshire will come to a head on Tuesday when Wiltshire Council delivers its final verdict on the future of the charges.
The full council will decide whether to increase charges further, keep them the same, or reduce them.
With some charges up by 300 per cent in April this year, there will be huge pressure on councillors to make further concessions to business leaders who attend the meeting at City Hall in Salisbury at 10.30am.
Council leader Jane Scott has vowed not to increase parking charges again for the next two years, but businesses will be looking for more from council bosses.
Mike Williams, president of the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce, will present a dossier to councillors, which has been compiled by chamber members.
Wiltshire Council has introduced cheaper Christmas parking and a redemption scheme in which traders help to reimburse the cost of parking for their customers.
