Correspondents on the topic of the chips in wheelie bins are being a little disingenuous in their criticism.
In acknowledging the apparent lack of transparency in advising the community of the existence of the chips, the fact of the matter is that most members of the community reveal far more from the waste they throw away than could ever be revealed by a chip.
Disregarding the amount of sensitive correspondence - how else do criminals obtain information to clone identities - a rummage through the average bin will reveal information on medications used, on leisure, dietary and drinking habits. I am sure that those who are responsible for collecting the waste know far more than any desk jockey' in the Hopton offices, even were our lorries and offices equipped to read the chip.
Meanwhile, there is no spy in the garden and nothing that can be interrogated remotely!
