THE British Heart Foundation is set to receive a boost of hundreds of pounds after people in Malmesbury put on their walking boots in aid of the charity.
About 15 people, as well as two dogs, took part in Sunday's Hearts First Walk around the town and surrounding area.
The picturesque, six-mile ramble took participants out to the ancient Fosse Way Roman road and on to Brokenborough, before heading back to Malmesbury.
The walk was one of a number that are taking place nationally, designed to encourage people to take better care of their hearts.
Jacqui Pycroft, who led the trek, said it had been an excellent day.
"It went very well," she said. "We don't know exactly how much we have managed to raise yet, but we hope it is going to be a lot.
Mrs Pycroft said: "Luckily the weather held out for us, so we didn't have to negotiate any mud, and everybody enjoyed eating the blackberries on the way round."
