SIXTH formers at Malmesbury School were put through their paces at an Army leadership day yesterday.

Members of the Glos, Wilts and Berks regiment spent a morning at the school, running team-building exercises.

The pupils had to undertake physical and problem-solving challenges.

Head of sixth form Andy Backwell said it had been an enjoyable and worthwhile experience.

"We put it on to get them to bond together as a year group. It's nice to see them let their hair down," he said.
