YOUNG archaeologists excavated the remains of an old 19th century summer house in the woods behind their school.
The dig was part of Hardenhuish School in Chippenham's activity week in July. Pupils were helped by Mike Stone, curator of Chippenham Heritage Centre.
History teacher Phil Whalley said: "The remaining stonework of the building, which was in the typical style of a mock Greek temple, was plotted, measured and recorded. This data was then used on the school computer systems to reconstruct the appearance of the summer house during its Victorian heyday."
