In his letter last week Bill Douglas stated that there is talk of charging for car parking on Sundays in Chippenham.
I can assure your readers that there is no plan to introduce Sunday charges and never has been.
Bill also comments on rebate schemes. If a retailer wishes to adopt a rebate scheme the level of rebate would be decided by that retailer and not by the council. Bill is referring to a comment I made when being interviewed by the BBC when I gave an example of how it works elsewhere.
