We are residents occupying a property in one of the seven pollution hot spots of the town and are appalled at the cavalier behaviour of ambitious officers who feel free to apply EU legislation that suits them but ignore that which is inconvenient.
Failure to act immediately to reduce the pollution/congestion must be construed as criminal behaviour and the legal process should be put in motion.
All existing and future residential planning should be reviewed in light of the congestion and pollution implications.
Important market towns such as Devizes should not be treated as convenient playthings. If the county needs further accommodation for an expanding population there are thousands of acres of under-utilised MoD land immediately available. The impression is that the motivation is a more financial quest rather than genuine interest in housing the homeless.
