The life and times of the Virgin Mary have been recreated by children at St Mary’s School, Chippenham.
As part of an art week, pupils put on performances and made displays to illustrate the life of their school’s namesake.
Foundation stage teacher and arts subject leader Ali Gouzien said the work produced by the children had a powerful meaning.
“As a Catholic school, we wanted the children to be able to start with Mary’s pregnancy and then move through to the time that Christ died on the cross,” she said.
“The displays have become a permanent feature at the school and have been displayed in the prayer room.”
Children from Years 5 and 6 worked with students of St Gregory’s Catholic College in Bath to put on a series of performances for both their parents and their schoolmates.
