Devizes MP Claire Perry has opened her own office in Devizes where she can meet constituents.
She and her team have taken over space at Renelec House in New Park Street and she held a drinks party for invited guests to inaugurate it last Thursday evening.
While the pink bubbly flowed and canapes made by TV chef Peter Vaughan were handed round, Mrs Perry explained the purpose of the office.
She said: “This is not a Conservative Party office, this is a place where I can meet local people to discuss matters of concern to them. I have always felt that it is a shame that the local MP had no base in the town that gives its name to the constituency.”
The Devizes constituency Conservative Party has its offices in Marlborough High Street.
