Revellers at WOMAD will get a chance to enter the Guinness World Records when they attempt to be part of the largest number of people playing air guitar at the same time.
The record stands at 1,883 people and, with up to 30,000 descending on Charlton Park for the festival, organisers hope to set a new mark.
Jimi Hendrix’s legendary track Purple Haze will be played and rock singer Justin Adams will guide the guitar ‘playing’ on stage.
He will be joined by Air Guitar UK Champion, Thom Wilding to ensure everyone is really strumming those imaginary strings.
The air guitar world record attempt will begin at 10.45am, Sunday 31 July, on the main stage.
