Children at the Little Angels nursery, in Calne, donned mortarboards to take part in a mini graduation ceremony.
The procedure devised for students picking up a university degree brought gravitas to the event, in the grounds of Spring-fields School on Saturday.
The 25 children who will be leaving for primary school were given a certificate and had graduation snaps taken, before a big party with food, drinks and a bouncy castle.
Nursery owner Rachel Everitt said: “We did this last year, with just the children who were leaving, but this year we opened it up to parents and children of all ages.
“We had about 200 parents watching, which was lovely for the children. They all had little mortarboards on and got a certificate and a gift.
“It was nice for those leaving, but also those who will be moving up into a different room in the nursery too.”
