Hundreds of people are set to welcome the Wadworth Brewery shire horses in Poulshot at the start of their summer holiday.
Prince, Max and Monty will arrive at the Raven Inn, Poulshot, at noon on Friday, August 5, and be offered a pint of Wadworth beer before walking to their field for a fortnight’s break.
Last year 1,000 people attended and Jerry Edwards, chef landlord of the Raven, is preparing for a large number this time.
He will have a marquee in the grounds of the pub and has arranged for clowns to entertain children.
A menu of slow roasted shoulder of pork and lamb will be served to punters.
Mr Edwards said: “I will have roasted the pork and lamb for three to four hours and then will finish them off in a big barbecue.”
In the evening the Raven will host The Log Off Duo from Marlborough, who play classic and contemporary rock. Refreshments will be burgers and six Wadworth ales.
