The hottest chefs in Wiltshire competed with each other at the All Cannings chilli cook-off on Saturday.
The King’s Arms pub once again hosted the event - the sixth - and contestants cooked up a dozen different chillies while 100 people came along to taste and vote for their favourites.
Parish council chairman Tim Daw, who helped organise the event, said: “It was a day for the younger cooks as newcomer entrants, the Gray family, won both the most family-friendly and the best veggie classes.
“Max (Gray) won the best overall chilli and best under 16 chilli, with Mary Daw coming a close second in the under-16 category. The pub chef, Kevin, was narrowly beaten by Max Hanney in the overall category and in the hottest by me.”
Richard Baulu, landlord of the King’s Arms, said: “The way people got into the spirit of the thing was great. It has now become a regular annual event which everyone looks forward to.”
The event raised £70 for charities.
