A dessert described as “a sensual, savoury-sweet triumph” has helped place Easton Grey’s Whatley Manor 14th in the Good Food Guide.

The restaurant scored eight out of ten in the 2011 guide to the top 60 UK restaurants. The guide particularly praises Black Truffle Ice Cream with creamed Roquefort, deep-fried goat's cheese, candied walnuts.

Head chef Martin Burge retains the two Michelin stars that he won last year.

The guide is based upon guests telling the guide about their own dining experiences and Mr Burge said: “It’s great to have had so many guests write in and to have been recognised.”

General manager Peter Egli said: “We are immensely proud to have achieved this rating.”
