Abseiler Helen Funnell, who dropped 66 feet down Earls Court arena in London to raise money for Devizes Opportunity Centre, has spoken of her terror.
Ms Funnell, 34, said: “I thought it was going to be fun but it was terrifying.”
She took on the challenge after seeing the care lavished on her three-year-old niece, Lily Stevenson and other children with special educational needs at the centre in Belle Vue Road, Devizes.
Her sister, Lily’s mother, Leeann Stevenson of Burbage, said: “I am full of admiration for Helen.”
Ms Funnell raised £1,333 from the abseil. She is hoping, through other activities, to raise a total of £4,000. On Monday she gave £2,500 to centre.
