Children from the Heathcote House nursery school in Devizes took harvest festival gifts to residents of Crammer Court yesterday.

The residents of the sheltered flats were as delighted by the appearance of the youngsters as with the goodies they brought.

Stephanie Hall, principal of Heathcote House, said: “This is something we do every year though we haven’t been to Crammer Court for a few years.

“The children have been making cakes for harvest festival and we took them along for the residents.

“The children were very excited. They have been practising their singing and dancing for weeks.”

The children sang appropriate songs such as John Brown’s Tractor has a Puncture in its Tyre, Once I Had a Cherry Stone and Shake, Shake the Apple Tree.

Mrs Hall said: “They were all really excited to go, particularly as they were promised a drink and a biscuit afterwards.”
