‘Happy’, ‘generous’ and ‘always smiling’ are just some of the ways that Diane Wright will be remembered by her family and friends.

The teaching assistant from Woodshaw, Wootton Bassett, leaves two daughters after she died in a head-on collision between Baydon and Wanborough on Thursday September 23.

Mrs Wright was born on June 30 1961 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, to parents Raymond and Patricia Botwright.

She has one older sister Linda Haughton, one older brother David and a younger brother called Andrew.

While working in admin for the police at Heathrow in 1985, Mrs Wright met her future husband David, a police officer.

They married on June 6 1987 at Englefield Green in Surrey and had two daughters, Tracey, 20, and Lucy, 17. Tracey is studying illustration at the University of Plymouth and Lucy is in Year 13 at Wootton Bassett School.

The family have lived in Wootton Bassett for 15 years and have two labrador dogs, Roxanne and Charlie.

Mrs Wright was an active member of her local neighbourhood watch scheme and attended meetings at the local police station. PC Nick Spargo described her as “a very popular member of the scheme”.

She has worked as a receptionist for TH White and Marsh Farm Hotel before working as a teaching assistant, including at Baydon St Nicholas School.

Mrs Wright’s funeral will be held next Wednesday at 12.30pm at Breakspear Crematorium in Middlesex.All those who knew her and would like to attend should contact davidglwright@aol.com
