A man found dead in the River Avon in Chippenham on Thursday has been named as Anthony Ian Slade, 62.
He lived at Unity House - a hostel for single, homeless people - in Wood Lane.
A dog walker came across the body lying in the water near the blue bridge in Monkton Park at around 11am on Thursday.
Police and paramedics were called to the river, and Mr Slade was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating the circumstances around the tragedy, as well as Mr Slade's final movements.
