Novelty dogs entertained nearly 500 people at the Gastard village fete on Saturday.
The dog show was among an array of activities at the annual fete which raises money for Gastard’s village hall each year.
There were children’s sack races and games of tug-of-war.
Organisers hope to have raised nearly £2,000 through a raffle and the sales of teas, beers, cakes and a barbecue. Jenny Gibson, on behalf of the village hall committee, said: “It was extremely well attended and has helped to raise a significant amount of money.
“The insurance for the village hall is very expensive so this money always goes a long way towards the upkeep.”
The fete has now been running for over 30 years and this year also staged a fancy dress competition.
Some of those in fancy dress as sci-fi characters had been enlisted by Corsham’s Automattic Comics store in Pickwick Road, whose Dalek made a guest appearance.
